
In early 2008, Scott Parrish, John Pulleyn and Mike Young left their financial advisor positions at an international brokerage firm to found Parrish, Pulleyn & Young Wealth Management in Clayton, NC. In August of 2008 they opened an office in Cary, NC.

Scott Parrish began his career in financial services in 2003 and brings many years of industry experience to Parrish, Pulleyn and Young.
He is a graduate of the Financial Advisor Development Program at Morgan
Keegan and Company, where he served as a financial advisor for nearly
4 years. Most recently, Scott served as a financial advisor with Merrill
Lynch.
Scott is a graduate of the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business at
Campbell University, where he earned a Master of Trust and Investment
Management. Prior to graduate school Scott attended North Carolina
State University where he earned a BA in History. Scott is a graduate
of Southeastern Trust School and has completed the Cannon Wealth Management
series. He has met the education requirements for the Certified Financial
Planner designation and is currently preparing for the qualifying
exam.
He is a native and lifelong resident of Johnston County and resides in Flowers Plantation outside of Clayton. He is married to Dr. Erin Parrish of East Carolina University.
John Pulleyn graduated from
Furman University with degrees in Political Science and Spanish and
as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the ROTC Program. He was
commissioned a Second Lieutenant into the US Army in June 2001. He
served as a Tank Platoon Leader in Germany and deployed his platoon
to Baghdad, Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While deployed
to Iraq, John was chosen as the second-in-command of his tank company,
earning a Bronze Star Medal. After Iraq, John took command of a basic
training company at Fort Knox, KY, where he commanded his company
with distinction. John earned a Meritorious Service Medal for his
six years of military service.
John began his career in financial services with Merrill Lynch, to which he was recruited out of the military. John founded Parrish, Pulleyn & Young Wealth Management with Scott Parrish and is responsible for client planning and business development.
John has been married to his wife, Mistie, for six years. hey have a daughter, Grace and a son, Jackson and live in Flowers Plantation.
Mike Young studied Economics at Plattsburgh State where he was a member of the
NCAA ice hockey program. Mike is a former U.S. Army airborne soldier and businessman who enjoys working with individuals, including business owners, to help them reach their financial goals. He believes that financial planning requires an ongoing, collaborative relationship. His role in that relationship is to help his clients manage, grow, and preserve their wealth. Mike is committed to providing exceptional service and is readily accessible to his clients and their intermediaries. Mike's financial career background includes Merrill Lynch and BB&T Investments.
Mike enjoys being a volunteer as well. He was the ice hockey head coach for North Carolina State University for 11 years, earning 3 ACC Coach of the Year Awards. He also participates in the Indian Princess/Guides program at YMCA, coaches youth sports and is a former high school Youth Minister.
Mike and his wife, Maria, have been married for 10 years and have two children; Gabriella 8 and Nicholas 6. Mike and his family are long time
residents of Cary.
Jeff Beamer has over 12 years experience in the insurance industry, dealing with Life, Disability Income, Health, Long Term Care and Property & Casualty. He is a graduate of the Federated Insurance MR Development Program, where he served as a Marketing Representative and District Manager. Jeff came to Parrish, Pulleyn and Young from a large insurance company where he assisted in developing and launching a benefits program for small business.
Jeff is a graduate of Radford University with degrees in Journalism and English. He brings experience and expertise in all areas of insurance, including estate planning and business continuation plans.
Jeff lives in Flowers Plantation outside of Clayton. He has two children, a daughter named Sarah and a son named Brandon.
Derek Dickens comes to Parrish, Pulleyn, and Young from VALIC Financial Advisors where he worked in retirement advisory and financial planning. He previously worked as a financial advisor in Global Wealth Management with Merrill Lynch in Raleigh. Derek has experience in healthcare administration, medical practice management, and software integration project management.
Derek is a native of Greenville, North Carolina and is a graduate of North Carolina State University with degrees in Psychology and Zoology. He is also a graduate of the School of Business and Economics at Fayetteville State University where he earned a Master of Business Administration. While completing his MBA, Derek was awarded the 2005 OFC Venture Challenge in Atlanta and was invited to compete in the prestigious Global Moot Corp held at the University of Texas, Austin. He is currently completing requirements toward earning the Certified Financial Planner designation.
Derek enjoys working with community arts and cultural programs. He serves on the board of directors of Artspace and International Focus in Raleigh and has served on the Wake Forest Public Art Task Force. He is married to the former Stephanie Anne Krawec of New York and they have two children, Elena and Ryan. Derek and his family reside in North Raleigh.
Zane Danuck joined Parrish, Pulleyn and Young in 2010 as a licensed Life and Health Insurance associate. Zane brings extensive knowledge of business management and a long-standing achievement of customer satisfaction to the Parrish, Pulleyn, & Young team. He has been a well-respected entrepreneur in the Raleigh/Durham area since 1991.
Zane has more than 2 decades of experience as a successful Entrepreneur and is an award-winning General Contractor. Throughout his career as a General Contractor, Zane has helped countless individuals and families realize and attain their housing dreams through exceptional customer service and outstanding attention to detail. Zane's commitment to his community has allowed him to be and active volunteer with his family and an active parishioner at his church. His community fundraising involvement includes The Make-A-Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, The Muscular Dystrophy Association, and The Helping Horse Therapeutic Riding Program.
Zane is a native of New Jersey and has been married to his wife Christine since 1991. He and Christine have lived in the Cary area since 1992 and they have two beautiful daughters, Greyson and Megan. Zane enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid fisherman.
Maribeth Christensen has a unique background in both accounting and financial services. She has a Masters in Accounting from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at UNC-Chapel Hill and a BA in Economics from Creighton University. She received her designation as a Certified Public Accountant in 1991. As a CPA, Maribeth worked for both Deloitte & Touche and Revlon. After many years as a stay at home mom, Maribeth earned her Securities and Life & Health Insurance licenses to become a Financial Advisor. Before joining Parrish, Pulleyn & Young, Maribeth worked for Merrill Lynch in their Global Wealth Management Division. Maribeth has a strong commitment to customer service with a passion for helping clients understand all aspects of their financial lives and achieve their goals.
Maribeth is a native of New Jersey and has lived in Raleigh since 1991. She is very active in the Raleigh community and has worked on many fundraising campaigns, including The Women's Center of Raleigh, The American Heart Association and Generous Community. Maribeth currently serves as the chairman for the Generous Community Advisory Board. She is an active member of Crossroads Fellowship Church and serves on many civic committees throughout the Triangle. Maribeth lives in Raleigh with her 3 children; Soren, Carly and Tess.
